If Heaven Was a Mile Away is a great track made by young people Dre, Grace, Risade, Jemal and Daniel who visited The Lab. The track is based on the topic of faith and artists express how having God in their lives keeps them focused. They created a vibrant mixture of rapping and singing on the track whilst the video was shot on The Lab. Great work guys!
In December 2010 a dedicated team of creative young people were recruited for our Scaling Up Project to organise and host The Lab’s annual showcase event- The Lab Takeover. The team attended weekly meetings to discuss plans for the event and participated in a training programme including Photography, Music Production and Animation workshops. They organised everything from holding auditions and choosing the acts right down to the stage and lighting hire. The eventĀ was held on Friday 25th March and was a huge success! A big well done to Sonia and the Scaling Up Team for all their hard work, we’re already looking forward to next years event! Here a few highlights from the day, to see more pics and some behind the scenes stuff check out The Lab blog http://rollingsoundthelab.blogspot.com/2011_04_01_archive.html
The team on board The Lab wrote, produced and performed this track entitled ‘RollingSound The Anthem’.
Going through each member of the team one by one, they manage to highlight just some of the good work we do here at RollingSound – in a humorous way, of course!
Hope you enjoy!

Over 300 young people took part in RollingSound Summer Uni courses all over London this year – spanning 12 boroughs.
Here you can see an example of some of the work produced by young people of Newham during this year’s program.
The Secret Evillaire is a spoof of the Channel 4 The Secret Millionaire program, in which an evil Director of a drinks company tries to take over the world! An incredibly imaginative and very funny creation the young people of Newham!
